Tis may seem to be a strange post but this is something you have to definitely watch out for. Many offices to save money have started diluting their botox to increase revenue. Botox is expensive and most offices are looking for ways to save money and increase profit. Diluting botox with saline is the easiest way to make the botox go further. Basically, saline solution is added to the botox and instead of a 1:1 ratio a ratio of 1:2, 1:3, or even 1:4 is used to make the botox go further. Botox/Allergan does recommend a ratio of 1 part botox to 2 parts saline but as many physicians know a 1:1 ratio sometimes works better depending on the severity of the wrinkle correction. We have even seen solutions as high as 1:6 which can give patients the droopy eye condition or the botox can actually migrate.

It is important to also remember that Botox and Fillers go well together but be careful anytime your physician wants to mix botox with a laser procedure. If you are having a laser resurfacing procedure you need to make sure that the botox has had time to settle before continuing with additional cosmetic procedures. Botox and Filler Combo procedures can do great things and take years off of your face, just make sure that you go to a reputable dermatologist.
